About the Tattoo
As we step into the winter session and the stars aligning in the way our shadows and old patterns challenge us more than ever, I would like to dedicate this bouquet to our rising fear, hopelessness, helplessness, etc… everything that is a part of our journey and being but rejected.
Each being on this planet and beyond has both sides: the light and the shadow. To me, I see the light as our divinity and the shadow as our humanity. Both are essential.
We are so used to spending our moments rejecting and avoiding the shadow. We tell ourselves that “be the light” is the goal. However, the more we crave the light, the more resistance the shadow becomes. The answer is not in one over the other. It’s always about finding a balance that is always in flux.
I want to make space for a moment of celebration and appreciation for the shadow, our humanity. By doing so, we can welcome shadow into our light, which is how we transmute everything and transform.
I would love to share this art personally with someone who would like to take it on their skin as a reminder to love both our divinity and humanity. For anyone who would like to claim this art on their skin, they will also walk away with this original art I have drawn.
Please email me at inquiries@inkedbychloe.com if interested.
Thank you so much!

Chloe Hua
Born and raised in Northern China, I have developed my love for art since the age of 5 and have trained as an illustrator for more than a couple decades. I moved to Vancouver, Canada in 2012 to pursue my passion for drawing in the form of animation while attending Emily Carr University. During my undergraduate studies, I established a passion for the human body and its significance in expressing one's identity and spirit. After graduation, I decided to pursue this passion via temporary tattoos using henna paste and jagua gel. After pursuing temporary tattooing, I was offered an tattoo apprenticeship to pursue permanent tattooing as an art form. I have been tattooing since September 2019.
